Review on LG 49WL95C-W 49-Inch Curved Ultrawide 5120x1440p Monitor with Tilt and Height Adjustment by Bart Lynch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I wish it was more curved.

I wish this monitor had a more curved shape, but it works great with my Mac via USB-C. I've spent about 2 weeks with the AOC AGON 49" Curved Gaming Monitor (AG493UCX) and I think they have the right curvature in terms of what brings the image to the periphery. Compared to this monitor, it's significantly smaller, but that's the only downside I've been able to find so far Pros: USB-C delivers flawless 5120 x 1440 output on my MacBook Pro (13" 2019, four Thunderbolt 3 ports). I can't find another monitor of this size that does - Supports Mac night shift This was an unexpected plus as I haven't seen this on any other external monitor - Has 4 USB ports (2 on the back + 2 on the side) Cons - Lacks a remote control , but I can only say that because the AG493UCX had one.Something you don't know you need until you have it-Not curved enough compared to other brands; With a monitor that wide, the exaggerated curvature has to be exaggerated so your eye can take full advantage without having to strain or switch focus when looking at the other end (AOC got it right) - the headphone jack on the side and rear. It's too wide to be a practical place to plug everything in without the cables floating in front of your eyes. --== Updated November 8, 2021 ==-- USB port 1 does not seem to be working properly and every device connected to it is working intermittently. or at low speed. I am using an Apple Macbook Pro that is connected and powered via USB-C. On the monitor, I have a mouse, keyboard and webcam connected to the monitor's USB ports. I have had the monitor in this configuration since February 2021 without any problems. I first noticed an issue with my wireless mouse where tracking would come and go. I checked and confirmed it wasn't the battery and then tested with a wired mouse and found the same issue. I then tested USB ports 2, 3 and 4 and had no problems. When I found that USB port 1 was having issues with this device, I started testing that port with other devices, a keyboard, webcam, and hard drive, all of which had issues unique to using USB port 1 . At the moment I'm pretty sure there is a problem with this single port as I have tested multiple devices with multiple port combinations and USB port 1 is a universal problem.
