and still love. I use it for my TV sound.

I've had it for half a year now and I still like it. I use it to output sound to my TV instead of an AV receiver. It doesn't require a receiver and is much smaller and cheaper. I use it to receive optical output from my 65 inch Samsung 8500 TV. From this SMSL box, I navigate to the volume control with an MCM remote control. $38 (MCM part number 50-8394). From the MCM volume control through the RCA jacks to my PreSonus 10" powered subwoofer ($400) and from the subwoofer to my Tannoy 502 powered speakers ($300). cool system. It gets very, very loud, clear and crisp. When I want to use headphones to listen to a movie, show or YouTube on my TV, I just plug them into this SMLS DAC/amplifier with its own headphone volume control. The audio is still 100% coming out the back of this SMSL to the MCM volume control so I just mute the MCM with the remote. or I can listen at a higher volume through the headphones while others can also listen at a lower volume through the tannoys. Lots of flexibility. I also play music either through the TV using Spotify or I can take out the optical out on my 2011 MacBook Pro (requires a dedicated optical headphone out) and connect it to SMSL by unplugging the TV's optical cable and plugging the optical into the MacBookPro. .
