Review on 🔧 MOOG CC721 Coil Spring Set - Enhanced Steering & Suspension, Regular Size by Erik Barela

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I take horrible pictures

Keep in mind that these things will always vary from situation to situation. my feelings are a bit mixed. 93 ZJ - 5.2L V8 (engine size only worth mentioning over 4.0 due to weight gain - although honestly I think it is) I have them with a "match" CC782 for the front along with the budget amp Rubicon Express RE8030 2 inch Bought. I'm terrible at photography, but when I took out the rear feathers and put them next to these (CC721) feathers, I definitely thought I bought the wrong feathers. Visually, the CC721s were 3-4 inches larger. Of course, I don't think the previous owner NEVER changed. Well whatever. So I can tolerate some sag, although without a load I would think they would return relatively close to their original height (the wear was more due to their "spring ability" and/or ability to hold the intended load), but it was a very noticeable difference I didn't bother to put the spacers in and it's a good thing I didn't (part of me was surprised the previous guy tried to downgrade the damn thing). It was one hell of a ride after those and the shocks that came with the budget increase, but the big problem I had was that the "matched" fronts didn't match the spring bar - the top and bottom of the springs do same (for lack of a better word) taper, just like they should.sit in slightly at one end.I ended up sending the fronts back and adding spacers to the springs to achieve the same ride height. Now I'm wondering exactly what the ride height is and/or should have been. Ultimately, I'm not sure if these are the "right" springs for the ZJ - or at least for MY ZJ. They fit easily enough, but on a flat surface the stiffer part of the "CVT" springs will be almost completely compressed. Maybe my understanding is wrong, but I think for the "variable" part to be effective there needs to be space to compress it, so I'm not so sure about their correctness - at least in terms of load. It could be worse I think. It just seems like the carrying capacity for them is the weight of the back of the jeep. not the back And a certain amount, you think. This means that the "lift" I see is mostly in the less compressed part of the variable speed, with the more compressed part acting more or less like a set of spacers. 4 stars for reasonably priced nibs that more or less do what they're supposed to. In theory, the buyer should be careful, pay attention to the road, this is not a soft ride. You may find yourself bouncing off an embankment :)
