Small version at a glance: This tank is roughly the size of a 2.5 gallon tank. The species listed (snake, gecko, lizard, turtle) cannot be kept in this terrarium. It's not big enough to house any of these species. You can use this aquarium for travel or temporary housing (exhibitions, cleaning the main enclosure), but for the money you're better off buying a similar sized pet cage for travel/cleaning days. .Why then this terrarium? Why should I buy it? invertebrates. This would be great for a small starter colony of isopods, slingshots/juvenile tarantulas (non-adults), desert beetle species, smaller centipede species, hissing roaches. This terrarium is perfect for inversions and I wish the seller would sell it to inversion keepers and not reptile lovers. The terrarium looks high quality, but the acrylic has a few small scratches on the bottom and right. Nothing I can't ignore but it's worth mentioning. I tested the water resistance by filling it with 2 inches of water. It's not a leak. This means that you can easily design a bioactive planted terrarium here. The metal grille on top of the lid (which they advertise can use some heat - which I didn't test as I don't have basking critters and therefore don't have heat lamps) has very small holes. Absolutely safe to hold in small inversions/nymphs. Next to it is a hole through which you can thread the temperature sensor cable into the tank. There's no cover for this hole unless you're using it for cables, so you'll need to find a solution (like duct tape) if you have the slightest climber's eye to block this. The top access is easy to open and large enough to allow maintenance without having to remove the entire cover. The side vents are located high on the lid. They are small but not as small as the mesh holes. The 0.5cm x 0.5cm size is the same size as the mesh openings in standard Zilla terrarium lids. You are at the top of the enclosure. So if you're worried about the hissing nymphs escaping, you can always put up a petroleum jelly barrier. The "feeding hole" on the side of the lid closes with a magnet and opens inward so it doesn't look like an escape hazard. The lid is held in place with small plastic rivets - the tank comes with a range of additional accessories that are always appreciated. Accessories: - Artificial plant on a fake stone. I won't use it. Everything is fine, but the glue that attaches the plant to the stone is visible. It's just not [Aesthete I c].- A mock plastic trunk that looks almost like a birch trunk. Nearly. This is normal and can be easily disinfected. I use real wood in my enclosures so I won't be using it but will keep it for a contingency of fake log. - tweezers. A little thin and bends easily. Not super long. I have a gecko that eats insects so I tested them by grabbing a cricket to feed them. They worked - A bowl of food. It's made of plastic and glows in the dark. A bit like a rock. I tested it for waterproofing and it held water. So this can be used for either food storage or water storage for species that need a small water dish such as B. the whip scorpion. cork background. i really love it This version of the cork background has a layer of flat, regular cork (like cork sheet) behind it. This allows it to sit in the aquarium more than other cork backings I've worked with. In general, this is an excellent and very attractive option for keeping invertebrates. The accessories were good or bad, but the terrarium itself is of good quality. I hope the seller will consider renaming the small version to show it's not for reptile keeping, but a good buy for invertebrate keeping. Giving 4 stars for questionable accessories and the fact that reptiles are advertised.
