I used these to install mounts in my rental car so I didn't have to screw everything down and make a sticky mess like most double sided ones make tape. I used this to attach the DVR instead of the tape that came with it so I could remove (or even move) the DVR. It's only been in place for a few months (Ohio winter) so I'm not sure how well it will hold up on the windshield in direct summer sun, but no complaints so far. I've also used it to attach a magnet in my console so I can protect my concealed stretcher (it's been 2 years now and the command strips are perfect). Their use is, in my opinion, the ideal solution for those who have a rental car. They provide an easy way to secure things in your car without using the tape that comes with my stuff (like the dash cam) and they're so easy to remove and you don't have to try and scrape the tape off like that They do it with cheap double sided tape you can get sometimes.
