Every weekend I walk an average of 8 to 10 miles in local national forests or state parks here in Texas. I'm by no means a spring chicken (55) and I hated how long it took my body to recover from the blast furnace that is Texas Summers. When I start my hike, I take 2 scoops and add them to a blender bottle with 16 ounces of ice water. Additional energy compared to an energy drink is given day and night. You don't suffer from a sugar rush or collapse when it's over. If it's a technical hike and/or very hot, I'll do a second bottle of 2 scoops for recovery while I'm having lunch. With this combination, I notice that my body recovers much faster and I feel like I can hike again the next day. Before these BCAAs, I would run hard on Saturdays and lick my wounds on Sundays. No longer. Now I can run on Sunday and go to work on Monday. No syrupy taste, no sickening sweetness, blends great even without a blender, and the flavor makes it even better. Would recommend to all my hiking friends. The only side effect that can occur is tingling in the face. It just shows me it's working.
