I would give it 5 stars except it's the second coffee maker in a year. It works very well, consistently and predictably, but it shorted out when we cleaned it. You can just attribute it to the guy who cleaned it, not the coffee pot. It is also very attractive for a coffee pot. I should add that for years we had a Cuisinart bean grinder which I loved, but it broke so constantly (door wouldn't close, grinder stopped working - we've tried 3 in 9 years) that we have to look separately for ground grains have switched. Coming to terms with the quality of Cuisinart is absolutely not worth the extra step.
