We are tech savvy and fully involved in the online world with various computers. We ordered this phone on the assumption that it was a regular mobile phone, intended for making calls only. After charging, however, the first pop-up screen is a lengthy user agreement that must be approved before the phone can be activated. This phone is a Chinese-made KaiOS and according to their Wikipedia page, it is fully connected to Google, Facebook and a number of other sites unrelated to cellular services. Additionally, part of the user agreement requires consent from KaiOS and its partners to share your personal information and any data shared with unknown third parties. It's an inexpensive device, but if you buy one, make sure you lose the illusion of privacy once you activate it.
