I have a 1G connection because I'm using WiFi speed drops to 150-200Mb. I wanted to use wired ethernet to get closer to 1G, but unfortunately all new Macs have Type-C ports, making the use of adapters mandatory. This adapter is useless if you want 800MB to 1GB speed over Ethernet. My speed has not improved with this adapter. A simple waste of money. I didn't come back because I was late. It's cheap, very disappointed. I'm using a wired ethernet connection with non-mac computers that have ethernet ports and am approaching 1G speeds.
