The first thing I would like to say about this umbrella is that it was easy to assemble. Yes, there are 2 different sets of screws, but there are 6 of one type & 4 of the other, & they are labeled. So if the directions say to use M8X14 screws, there are 4 of them. Now, you definitely need a base which is not included which I purchased at the same time. I filled the base with water, although a mix of sand & water is recommended. The umbrella is unusable without a base unless it is secured another way. The vertical adjustment is notched as is the horizontal adjustment. The problem with the notched horizontal adjustment is that if shade is needed between 2 notches, the umbrella occasionally moves into a notch when there is a breeze. The part of the frame that supports the fabric does move when there is a breeze. I do keep the umbrella closed when not in use. But if it is being used on a breezy day, I don’t know if the upper frame will break. I hope I received the updated version of this umbrella! I really like the look of the umbrella & the fact that it can easily be adjusted.
