Amazing for the price

I only chose this lens because I didn't have an IS lens with such a focal length. I already had a Canon EF-S 55-250 IS lens and was pleasantly surprised at how well the IS works and how sharp the image is. I was hoping that this lens would achieve the same quality. It didn't disappoint! The image quality it produces is not far inferior to my favorite lens, the L-series lens. The lens arrived just in time to test it and capture beautiful fall colors. The results were good enough to impress my friend who is a professional photographer. Color was fantastic, images were sharp, CA was negligible or non-existent in most cases. I still find it difficult to reconcile the price of this lens with the excellent image quality I get from it. I am more than happy. The best comparison I can think of is that it looks like the plastic zoom equivalent of the "fantastic" EF 50mm f/1.8 lens - if you've got that wonderful, but very cheap lens, you know , what I mean. (If you don't have this lens, do yourself a favor and get one!) I highly recommend this lens.
