Review on Rit 02640 Dyemore Midnight Navy by Denise Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Painful to use but works great

I had 4 navy blue uniform pants, mostly off Composed of plastic and rayon, nylon poly, whatever. They went purple and cost $80 each to replace. This product saved me a lot of money. But it hurt to use it. I have a turkey fryer. and got an 8 gallon stainless steel skillet. I adjusted the water temperature to 200 degrees and added 2 bottles of dye and a tablespoon of zori. I made 2 matches out of 2 pants. In the second batch I added more twilight and 1 more bottle of dye. All 4 pairs came out perfect, dark blue again. The whole process took 4 hours but it was worth it. I bet I can get 2 more years of service from my old pants that look brand new now.

Pros
  • If you're dyeing fabrics with less than 35% synthetics (e.g. polyester, acrylic or acetate) use Rit All Purpose Dye instead
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
