Description of Rit 02640 Dyemore Midnight Navy

Dye synthetic fabric and fabric blends, which include anything with 35% or more polyester, acrylic, acetate or nylon. Perfect for rejuvenating faded clothing, upcycling, hiding laundry accidents and so much more. With 250+ color recipes available on Rit’s website, it is almost certain you’ll find the right color for your needs. Get creative and create something unique with an easy dye technique, like an ombré, dip dyed, shibori or tie-dye pattern. Due to the complexity of dyeing synthetic fabrics, you must use this dye in a stainless steel pot on your stove top to maintain a high water temperature throughout the duration of dyeing. Cannot be used in a washing machine. If dyeing fabric with less than 35% synthetic fabric (i. e. polyester, acrylic or acetate), use Rit All-Purpose Dye instead

Didn't work with my scrubs

Very difficult to use indoors without dye splashing, need a metal pot, boil for almost an hour, stirring constantly, rinse, wash, dry everything to zero. only surgical pants fit in the hole. One pair of scrub pants soaked up all of the "navy" color, and the next pair was purple. Navy Blue I would not recommend using a WHITE nylon scouring form to dye them Navy Blue. I ended up just buying more scrubs and my colored ones will do. Much luck!

Pros
  • Due to the difficulty of dying synthetic fabrics, this dye must be used in a stainless steel pot on the stove to keep the water warm during the dyeing process. Cannot be used in the washing machine
Cons
  • Requires a socket

Painful to use but works great

I had 4 navy blue uniform pants, mostly off Composed of plastic and rayon, nylon poly, whatever. They went purple and cost $80 each to replace. This product saved me a lot of money. But it hurt to use it. I have a turkey fryer. and got an 8 gallon stainless steel skillet. I adjusted the water temperature to 200 degrees and added 2 bottles of dye and a tablespoon of zori. I made 2 matches out of 2 pants. In the second batch I added more twilight and 1 more bottle of dye. All 4 pairs came out…

Pros
  • If you're dyeing fabrics with less than 35% synthetics (e.g. polyester, acrylic or acetate) use Rit All Purpose Dye instead
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Efficient and affordable.

Great product for the price. Follow the instructions exactly as directed (keep reading glasses handy, the writing is tiny for some of us)! Hot water and constant stirring, stirring and moving (of the fabric you are dyeing) is the key to evenly dyeing whatever you are dyeing. Another tip: put on gloves, old pants and a shirt and put something on the ground under the bucket! This dye is STRONG and quickly stains the floor, clothes, skin, etc. I also recommend wearing some kind of mask, try not to

Pros
  • Dyeing of synthetic and mixed fabrics, including any fabric containing 35% or more polyester, acrylic, acetate or nylon. Ideal for refreshing faded clothing, recycling, hiding wash marks and more.
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others
