Review on ๐Ÿพ Petsfit Comfortable Dog Cat Backpack Carrier: Ultimate Travel Companion for Pets up to 22 Pounds by Ashley Levy

Zippers aren't very strong and don't work within a few steps after a 20 foot fall while hiking

I've searched a lot for the best backpack carrier for pets and this is the one I felt most comfortable with With. It wasn't the cheapest (nor the most expensive). I have made a total of two trips with this carrier. One on a 3-4 mile hike only used for the second half of the hike (with a 12lb chigle). We spent our second vacation in Acadia National Park, which has trails with ladders and ledges. We thought this would be a great opportunity to use the Petsfit tote. But just a few steps after descending the stairs with a 20-foot drop, the entire bottom of the trunk fell out. I shudder to think what would happen if we were just a few seconds further on our march. He would certainly have been exposed to a life-threatening fall. After examining the backpack's design, I couldn't help but wonder why there weren't spare hand straps in case the zipper broke. Because eventually the zipper on this one will break - unfortunately it's right on the edge of the bottom for maximum wear and tear. So even for users who have it a little longer if it breaks there is no backup. Unfortunately, with the current design, I wouldn't take a replacement even if I was offered one. It's just not good for me. I think this product could be improved with stronger zippers (my Jansport backpack has the kind of heavy duty zipper that this product needs on the bottom) and securing straps in case the zippers don't work.
