Review on Redi Shade 36x72 Light Filtering Pleated Paper Shades, 6-pack - White by Mary Cole

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I was skeptical at first but it's great.

I saw this for the first time in the photo of my new apartment that my friend sent me. I commented on her very beautiful linen curtains and she told me they were paper not linen! It was hard to believe from the photos. I kind of objected to the word "paper" as it sounded cheap, fragile, and not suitable for home use. But when I saw her, I calmed down. They are more like fabric than I expected. I had a few rooms in my house and a rental house where I wanted to put some type of window covering that wouldn't require a large investment, especially where I would be renovating in the next few years. I bought 2 boxes of six shades each (12 shades) and to address a question that seems to keep popping up: ALL came with 2 clips each (24 clips). The house for rent has a cat scratching the blinds. It was an inexpensive but beautiful alternative to replacing blinds. Kitty didn't seem too keen on breaking the window covers after we put them on. Another place I used them was on the windows on either side of my front door. They're tall and thin and I ended up wanting stained glass in them, so I didn't want to invest in custom window treatments. Ordinary scissors were enough to cut the lampshade in two pieces of the ideal size and I glued them together. Looks great inside and out. I also used the tint on a steel balcony door where I had previously used magnetic blinds. And also on two skylights of non-standard size. Looks great, easy to trim, easy to raise or lower with the clips provided, an inexpensive temporary window covering solution or even permanent use.
