Gosh I never realized how much a small detail can affect my experience with an OBD2 scanner. Over the past few years I've used various Foxwell scanners, all connected by a traditional cable, so I've only used the scanner in the passenger seat of a car. It never occurred to me that anything else would be possible, so when ordering the Mucar VO6, the detail that caught my eye was that it could be connected wirelessly. Trust me it's important. With an OBD2 dongle plugged into the port, you can read real-time data from the device while looking at the engine instead of hearing it from the driver's seat. You can get instant feedback when troubleshooting issues that you just don't get when you're tied to a cable. It doesn't seem like much, but it really is. The scanner itself is fully featured and offers more than enough to keep a hobbyist like me busy. I believe this is enough to satisfy most professionals. At this price I am impressed with the range of options available, 90% of which I will never need. I've used a few touchscreen scanners so this isn't anything new, but this screen is big, bright and crisp, it's fun to use. At 6 inches, it's slightly larger than any scanner I've tested in the past. The icons are well placed and the screen is very responsive. Highly recommended. I think it will be a long time before I feel the need to switch from VO6.
