Review on 🌳 KSEIBI 252606 Anvil Lopper: Lightweight Tree Trimmer & Branch Cutter with Telescoping Handle by Jeff Bourke

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not for hardwoods such as blackjack and post oaks.

Revised Review 3-22-18.Following my initial 2 star review, the seller reached out to me asking what could be done to resolve my issues. Seller suggested that the original loppers might be defective and sent a replacement pair at no cost. Seller also indicated that the handle arms were lightweight aluminum meant to bend, but no break.I have revised my review to indicate 3 stars for the following reasons. The replacement loppers are pretty much equivalent to the first pair. That said, these will probably do a good job for most city or suburban home owners needing to trim some ornamental bushes and/or a few trees. My situation is quite different. I live on a large property in the country with significant stands of dense woods. There are probably a couple dozen different tree and shrub varieties on my property. I keep a pair of loppers in the UTV year round for trimming overhanging branches, small trees and vines. I don't expect the loppers to replace a chain saw, but I do expect them to easily nip through modest branches. The flex of these nippers make it almost impossible to trim blackjack and post oak overhanging branches. These trees are very dense hardwoods and require a more substantial lopper. So I'll keep my trusty, but heavy, steel Fiskars bypass loppers on hand for the hard woods and use these aluminum loppers on soft woods and vines.Original Review.Positives: easy to adjust, long reach, lightweight.Negatives: These loppers are not rigid enough to snip a small (less than 1 inch) diameter oak branch. The arms have bent and I feel like they might break if I continue using them on hardwood tree branches. They work fine on softwoods and vines. Would not recommend for general purpose use.

Pros
  • Blade stays sharp for extended periods of time
Cons
  • May not be very sturdy
