Works . . . But ! - my new review

This guy is a bit of a love/hate, I'll explain.I got this to clip a kind of ground nettle that grows from 4-30 inches tall. The nettle has hundreds of tiny seeds that stick to any cloth and the legs of deer as they wander past. I've clipped over a 1000 across several acres around my house. That's the love. For the hate: This tool is designed for overhead pruning where the tool rest in the palm of your hand. When clipping plants on the ground the weight of the tool is on your trigger finger. In…

Pros
  • It is ergonomically designed to give you a comfortable and secure grip
Cons
  • May require frequent blade adjustments for optimal cutting performance

Did exactly what I needed it to do

I needed to trim some very high trumpet vine and a ladder was not an option. It cut cleanly and quickly. Worth every penny.

Pros
  • The KSEIBI 143010 Cut and Hold Bypass Pruner is competitively priced, making it accessible to a wide range of customers
Cons
  • May require more maintenance than other pruning options

Good pruner: my feedback

I wanted a long handled pruner to trim my Sago Palms. It works well. I also used it on the smaller branches of Red-Tip Photinias. I am pleased with my purchase.

Pros
  • Pleased to find this tool, no need to use a ladder to prune the shrubs. Great idea !
Cons
  • Blade may not be strong enough to cut through woody stems

Works pretty good on the thorns

Works pretty good. just forgot how small 5/16" limit really is.I'd look for something to reach in to those 1/2" side roots and snip them off.You can get there with this as It's easy lightweight but takes a bit of time to clear an overgrown thorn where you can cut the main root system. Hold feature is handy but less than ideal.

Pros
  • The KSEIBI 143010 is an excellent choice for both professional and amateur gardeners
Cons
  • May not be suitable for cutting larger fruit trees or bushes

Good Price - Good Product

Saves me from leaning over to trim on the ground.Particularly from reaching over a Fence, where my arm could not reach to ground level holding hand trimmers. Also the ability to grasp the cut item was very handy.Seems really well designed and constructed.

Pros
  • The pruner was easy to handle and it cut the growth on bushes and flowers that I intended it for.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for small hands

You get what you pay for

Tried to use it to trim a large bush. Sometimes it cuts well, and other times it just bends it, so I’m forced to rip it out, which isn’t good for the bush. Tried sharpening the blade, but you have to pretty much take it apart for that. Sometimes the blade would lock and I’d have to force it open.Bottom line: Buy a more expensive but reliable tool, like a Stihl (even if it is three times the price).

Pros
  • Very happy with this product
Cons
  • May be too heavy for some users

Revainrating 2 out of 5

For extremely light duty

Took this out in field for some trimming of wild rose bushes that I couldn't reach.Screws started falling out of the safety guards on the blades within 15 minutes. they should have used locktite. Don't plan on cutting anything over the diameter of a pencil. For extremely light duty use. Basically the performance of hair cutting scissors with about the same leverage.

Pros
  • The pruner significantly reduces the amount of time and effort needed for pruning
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with carpal tunnel or arthritis

This 5 foot cut-and-hold pruner is very light weight and perfect for cutting small branches and fruit and keeps them from falling to the ground (or into your neighbor's yard). It gives you complete control. However, I subtracted one star because without modification the tool as delivered is not very useful for cutting upward facing branches -- like the new growth shoots on the top of a fast growing bush, hedge, or small tree that must be constantly trimmed. The reason for this limitation is that

Pros
  • The Cut and Hold feature eliminates the need to pick up fallen debris
Cons
  • Blade may become damaged if not stored properly

It’s Not Bad, but… for my opinion

It is very lightweight, which is good for lifting it, but not so great for the cutting. Seems like it bends easily, and you really can’t cut anything more than smaller branches - less than 1/2 inch thick.

Pros
  • Comfortable hand grip revents fatigue
Cons
  • Blade may rust over time

Mostly one-handed operation for 1/4in cut.

Easy to manipulate w/one hand. Can adjust left or right cut to hold and retrieve branch. Well made, very sharp. Made short work branch-trimming an eight foot across Mock Orange. Delivery was a bit slow but before freeze-up.

Pros
  • 39.5 x 4 x 1.75 inches
Cons
  • May cause fatigue or strain in the arms and hands

Nice cutter but could be a little more durable.

This is great for small bushes and limbs but durability worries me a bit. However it has done the job so far. That's my review.

Pros
  • Bypass
Cons
  • Handle may become uncomfortable to grip during extended use

Perfect for those hard-to-reach shoots and branches!

The clipper is lightweight and easy to use, and is perfect for those errant hard-to-reach shoots that defy ladders and typical pruning equipment. I'm sure it has saved me at least one trip to the Emergency Room since I no longer have to scale a ladder and lean into my shrubs to get those just-out-of-reach branches. Very happy with my purchase!

Pros
  • Great for pruning in the garden
Cons
  • May be difficult to maneuver in tight, confined spaces

Great cutter good for me

Had to move handle set screw 90 degrees to get better angle for cutting top of bushes. Gripper jaws mainly aligned for hanging fruit.

Pros
  • Aluminum
Cons
  • Handle grip may become slippery during use

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Light use only for pruning thorny plants.

Well made and easy to use. However, it is light with little leverage so suited to consumer use with small stem cutting. Great for thorny plants like bougainvilleas.

Pros
  • Gardening & Lawn Care
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with hand injuries or disabilities

Very good product. Many uses around the yard.

Light weight and easy to handle. Blade is sharp enough to cut through small branches. Holds branch well after cutting. I use this mainly to cut green mangoes without needing a ladder. Very impressed with product.

Pros
  • Helps my pruning while staying off a ladder. Can easily prune pond plants without wadding into the pond.
Cons
  • Not suitable for left-handed individuals

Decent light-duty pruner for the money

This is a decent light-duty pruner for money and ideal if you need to prune something you don't want to handle, like poison ivy or brambles. Sure, the handle is all plastic and it would have been nice to at least have a metal insert to house the cable end in the handle (minus one star), but assuming you don't expect this to cut thick, woody stems or otherwise strain the handle then there's no reason it should not last if used occasionally and stored indoors.

Pros
  • The long reach allows you to prune your plants without disturbing the surrounding area
Cons
  • May not be suitable for cutting hard-to-reach branches

FABULOUS TOOL ! good for me

WOW ! What a GREAT tool ! One of my all time best purchases/investments ! I live in Tick Heaven ( if you're a Tick that is ) I wanted a trimmer for bushes that I could use with one hand and not touch the branches. Well, this is it ! Fun and easy to use. I can't rave enough about it. Exactly what I wanted and more ! I HIGHLY recommend it !

Pros
  • The pruner is easy to clean as it can be disassembled quickly
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with limited mobility in their arms or shoulders

Buyer Beware of Plastic handle, hoped for aluminum.

The tool is OK for what it cost and if used to snipe and hold oranges and lemons or similar fruit should get the job done but to cut actual branches you will need a real long reach by pass pruner designed to cut branches not stems of fruit. My disappointment is the handle is made of plastic rather than aluminum, if one were to squeeze it too hard for a branch and breaks the handle, the tool become a throw away. If you never attempt to cut something other than a tinny fruit stem, it will be…

Pros
  • This product is fantastic ! It is not only very light but also easy to operate. I love this thing!
Cons
  • Blade may become dull quickly

Our neighbor's tall hedge sends vines over to our side. The vines come over, mostly horizontally, at a 9 ft. high level. The Long-Reach Bypass Pruner has proved to be the perfect tool to cut those vines. I cut them and mentioned it to our neighbor. He asked to borrow the pruner and is now taking care of the vines. Yeah, he has the pruner, but I now have no problem with the vines.I do emphasize that the pruner is meant for green growth, 1/4" max. diameter. It won't cut hard, dry, brown growth. It

Pros
  • Orange
Cons
  • May require frequent cleaning to prevent rust or blade damage

Quit Grabbing for my opinion

I like how lightweight this is and the fact that it grabs the trimmings when it cuts them so you can put the trimmings directly into the garbage. The only problem is that the first branch that I cut that was bigger and harder to cut did some thing to the grabby part and it no longer grabs branches. All the branches fall to the ground. It was only the second use. Not enough for me to go to the trouble to send it back as I will continue to use it for it's other features, but I was really looking…

Pros
  • You can trust the brand as it has a good reputation in the gardening industry
Cons
  • May cause discomfort in the elbow joint after extended use
