This is not my first Mac, but the most compact. Very happy with my purchase and not disappointed at all! About the absence of the notorious retina, I will say this - for me, longer battery life is more important than small pixels. Got pros: Lightweight, powerful, long-playing, you just want to say about him - well-tailored, tightly sewn. Maverick on board and iWork to boot for free! Has cons: There are none if you know WHAT you are buying and WHY you are doing it. Those who buy MacBooks and begin to write that the biggest drawback is MacOS, it is definitely contraindicated!
