Review on 🧊 Reusable Large Square Ice Cube Tray with Lid - 2 Inch Big Block Silicone Ice Maker for Scotch Whiskey, Cocktails, Wine, Soup, and Juice - Easy Release Freezer Ice Cubes by Gary Reed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice square cube shape!

Each mold tray makes 6 square cubes. They are not completely clear, but neither are other silicone molds. The cubes are perfectly square on 5 sides, only the top is slightly uneven. This is not a problem as we simply place the cube in the stone upside down so that an imperfect side is invisible. The cubes do their job perfectly, melting very slowly, keeping your cocktail cold and minimizing dilution. Each section has a slightly raised maximum fill line on the outside wall. We find that filling from a spouted pitcher is the easiest way to evenly fill parts of a cube. My advice for removing the cube during use is to gently flex the tray to push the sides away from the cube you intend to use. This breaks the slight adhesion of the shape to the sides of the cube. I then place the tip of a finger just below the bottom center of the mold section containing the desired cube and push up until the cube is above the top of the mold to grab the cube and gently pull it out of the mold section . . I would recommend buying two mold shells so you are never limited to one remaining cube. We use a compartment upwards. Fill it up and put it in the freezer under the tray with already frozen cubes. We use small, thin chopping boards that we bought from a large Swedish store :) under each tray for the journey from the counter to the freezer so they don't sag when filled with liquid. It may not be necessary but they were very cheap and we had them so we used them. This enabled us to avoid spilling freshly filled bowls. Your mileage may vary depending on your skill level when wearing them without support. The light gray and green items below and between the two shell molds in the attached image are the aforementioned "Swedish" chopping boards.
