One worked great. The other was difficult to assemble, tried to work but stopped working together after 5 minutes. Also, as I manipulated the trays, the indicator marks showing how the trays should be aligned faded and disappeared. This happened with both grinders when I was trying to figure out why one was working and the other wasn't. I wonder if they are for decoration rather than everyday use. I wanted to keep one and exchange the other but was only offered a refund so I returned both. I don't think I would buy them again due to quality control issues and because they don't have a lid or holder to prevent pepper or salt from spilling out in storage.
