My cat has never had a problem with the carrier and always climbs in on its own but it was too small. Now that I have it, he's in love. The kit comes with a soft pad for his butt where he started to fall asleep. I'm sure cats that can't handle being carried would find it a lot less stressful! It also has a small place to hook its strap so you don't have to worry about it popping out when you open it. Update 5/20/19: Mac loves to wear it! I remove the vial and leave the lid open until hot. He usually falls asleep on the way down the mountain, so he's comfortable! I will say that the plastic window grille that comes with the kit is more ideal for warmer weather as it obviously has more air intakes. I use Bubble for cooler weather.
