Review on Non-Contact Infrared Digital Thermometer for Kids & Adults Forehead - Accurate Readings, No Touch Technology in White by Byron Forman

good to have at Test, Measure & Inspect

I bought this after close contact with a sick person. I had a lot of fun checking the temperature of the coffee and even the vent. Although at my own pace, not that much fun. It comes in a box with instruction manual and carrying case. Inside the battery compartment there are options to read Celsius or Fahrenheit, body or object, and a beep and silent mode. (That quiet feature is good. Who wants to ping in a sleeping baby's ear?) I got wildly different readings on my forehead and my ear until I realized there were two detachable pieces; protective cap and headband. It is in the manual but not shown in the diagram. Since the head cap is magnetic it is secure and doesn't seem to need to be removed. After this discovery, the readings were more stable! This device can also save memory, which is convenient. I hope that the update will include a time (or datetime) function, because then the memory will be really useful for managing medication or tracking ovulation. I can't say I was impressed or disappointed. I kept it because I'd rather have this tool than not have it. I will use my oral thermometer if I get a fever though.
