I spend a lot of time in the kitchen cooking, so I spend a lot of time with my hands in the water. I also cook raw food for my three cats. I bought these gloves because I couldn't get the ones I bought previously and I was almost out of gloves. But now that I've started using them, I'm glad I made the purchase. One thing I don't like about gloves is that they just aren't leather, so there are always spots on the fingertips that just don't fit and interfere with my sense of touch. But these gloves are different. They're thinner which is good for me because when they're on me it's like I'm not wearing anything. I have full tactile sensitivity down to my fingertips. I know some will say they don't offer that protection, but I don't use them on patients with needles! I use them when I'm eating and there are some aspects of cooking that really require me to be able to feel what I'm doing and with them I can. They are thin enough and stretchy enough to fit on me like leather, not like gloves! They tear more easily, but that's because they're thinner, which is why I like them. If you are looking for something more durable then these gloves are not for you.
