I gave 3 stars because the thread itself is a good product but it's not what I thought I would buy. This thread is great! But it's too thick for a normal sewing machine or serger. I don't have an embroidery machine to try it out, but I can't imagine it working on one. It's also cotton, not polyester, which isn't a problem for me, but be aware. Pleasant to the touch - soft and strong. It's too beautiful to go back but I'm very disappointed that it's not as versatile as the listing describes. I will use it for hand sewing or micro crochet but I want to use it in the sewing projects I bought it for. When they say "perfect for hand embroidery" they just mean hand embroidery.
