I have two of these baskets, one on my bike and one on my wife. Was completely satisfied until recently when, after two years of use, the basket's bracket suddenly failed while driving, causing the basket and my dog to fall to the ground without warning. Luckily the dog wasn't hurt, but it could have been fatal for the pup. The specific broken part was a pair of plastic tabs sticking up and attached to the underside of the basket's aluminum frame. Both "tongues" broke with no sign of weakening. As a workaround and to prevent this from happening in the future, I added some zip ties to my wife's bike to secure the basket to the bike's handlebars so that future bracket failure would prevent the basket and dog from falling to the ground . Cons: I have to cut the zip ties to remove the basket. My dog is 15lbs and the basket is rated at 20lbs so the basket wasn't overloaded.
