This is a very good item for ankle support or compression, but I wouldn't call it an orthotic. For those who have chronically sprained their ankles, after reading a few reviews here I thought this would be a convenient fixation solution. But I would never consider wearing it as a sports ankle brace. Nothing about it makes me think it will protect me or prevent an ankle sprain if I hit uneven ground or a pothole in the grass and my ankle spins. It's certainly comfortable and the product is well made, but $70 for compression support isn't very good value in my opinion. Calling it a "bracket" is a misnomer.
