Greetings! This is a very stylish, high quality and great sounding preamp. And it's the perfect work companion for my newly purchased 6.8w Nobsound 6p1 amp. This preamp has great bass and treble. I set the preamp volume to maximum as it sends the same full output signal to the amp that I would get if the preamp was not connected locally. Think of it like a gateway. My bass and treble rarely go past the 1 o'clock position, but are usually mid-level (flat) on most recordings. Some LP recordings are too bright for me, which was the main reason for ordering this preamp. I wanted something to "ride" any records with excessively high frequencies. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) 0.1%. The volume knob has detents (click, click, click) when rotated. Nice feeling of quality. Treble and bass controls have a range of +/-6dB and +/-6dB respectively, with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) โฅ (greater than or equal to) โฅ 98dB. According to the enclosed instructions. The whole system is completely silent when there is no music or other noise. While the bulbs glow by themselves, the socket bases also emit a beautiful red glow through the LEDs. Note: The new SUCA-ADUIO The Tube-T1 preamp uses two 6K4 tubes instead of the shorter 6j1 pair in the earlier SENUCN-AUDIO, although SUCA supports either tube. The list of equivalent bulbs for each version is as follows: 6j1, 6j2, 6J4, GE5654, 6K4, 6AK5 and 6*1n. And with tube amps, you can always experiment and improve the sound with the tubes recommended above. This is a very well built, durable and high quality device. Smart looking unit which I highly recommend. It's a steal at less than $40 at Revain.com. This is a tube buffer preamp, by the way. By definition, a tube buffer is essentially a passive preamp that adds tube tone to the signal and can be used with a solid-state preamp before or after that preamp. Thus, this device works perfectly with both tube and solid-state power amplifiers. Double win! And it's just a fun little preamp! This is my throwback to all tube amps from the days when tubes were king. I just wanted a quality toy for my computer desk to replace a rickety solid state amp. For only $310 I have a great sounding all tube system. My next step is to update the bookshelf speakers. My old Optimus Pro-X4 speakers are 24 years old and this new set deserves more! The Fluance SX6Ws appear to be winners due to their superior looks, features, and price (Revain.com). Addendum 02/15/20: I am a retired piano master and have a mild (upper range) hearing loss in my left ear. I was never able to properly balance the left and right channel volume levels to match my original Senucn T1 preamp. It broke after 9 months so I replaced it with the new SUCU-AUDIO T1. Not only did my old imbalance problems go away, but the soundstage was wider and stereo positioning improved significantly. I love my new SUCA-AUDIO T1 and I'm glad my old Senucn blew up! :-) By the way, my new Fluance S6W Classic Elite Series bookshelf speakers look and sound very nice. With a sensitivity rating of 92dB, they deliver 100.3dB at 1W of tone at 1m. More than enough volume for my 6.8W Nobsound 6p1 amplifier. I recommend Fluance bookshelf speakers for sound, build quality, and price. Available at Revain, where you can also read my speaker review. Steve Franks
