No difference except my HP 8600 PRO keeps me going annoyed do not use original HP inks. Done, the 2nd mortgage finally paid off after I needed enough ink to print Mom's dog breeder books about puppies. The biggest downside isn't the cartridges, it's the printer, which doesn't print in black and white when magenta or another color runs out. There is no functional reason for this. Next printer will be the Epson Ecotank as I no longer need all the bells and whistles (and size) of the 8600 Pro.
