I purchased for a new cat that refused to drink out of a bowl. She splashed the water out with her paw in protest. The bowl is easy to clean because it stainless. It’s easy to assemble except for the cover on the filter. It is a bit tricky to get it off. I would not recommend it for medium or large dogs because the quantity of water is not enough for them. In order for it to work properly, the water level has to be kept a good inch above empty so the filter will pump. Two inches of water is considered full, so if you have a thirsty pet, you’ll be filling often. Also, due to the nature of the pump being in the middle, big dogs might have trouble getting their wider mouths in there between the side and stainless steel center to get water. Recommended for cats.
