Review on Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee and Espresso Maker by De'Longhi, Matte Black Limited Edition by Shannon Williams

I don't write many Revain reviews but I had to come back after 15 months and leave a review here to warn everyone still thinking about buying this machine first of all it makes GREAT coffee really good straight out of the box best coffee we have ever made at home I can understand why this machine gets so many 5* reviews shortly after purchase. BUT - and this is a HUGE BUT - the reliability of this machine is dismal. We have been owners for 15 months. We use filtered water. We run a weekly "cleaning" cycle and a descaling cycle with original Nespresso by descaling solution As advertised We drink an average of 2 to 4 drinks a day We couldn't keep it going Nespresso customer service is seh r good - we know we talked to them A LOT Our first machine broke from 6 months. , Flashes orange. Nespresso support was very good. They sent us a refurbished machine as an advance replacement. We received the machine without a box and then used the same box and prepaid shipping label to send the defective machine back to Nespresso. Zero cost for us but no Nespresso for about 7 days waiting for a new machine. This second machine broke after about 7 months. Flashing orange light. At the moment we just ran out of warranty but Nespresso was still good. They sent us a prepaid box to return the car so they could try to fix it. When this was not possible they sent us a refurbished car to replace it. It didn't cost us anything but Nespresso was gone for about three weeks waiting for a new machine. We had this third car for 2 weeks. It broke this morning. The top button no longer works. We have spoken to Nespresso support and are waiting for a call back. If anyone is considering a purchase please take a look at the reviews "I just unboxed this machine and it makes fantastic coffee." Take some time to find reviews online (not just Amazon) from owners and read more read who have owned the car for a while. The two bugs we encountered are well known and widely documented online. These machines have a design and/or quality issue that may cause these machines to stop working in a way that you cannot solve at home. If you're in the mood for Nespresso, find another machine - this isn't it!
