Review on πŸ”Œ D-Link DIR-632 Wireless-N 8-Port Router: Discontinued by Manufacturer but Still Packs a Powerful Punch! by Jeff Apel

8 ports, no waiting. Where are all the sailors?

Ha! Very funny, isn't it? Hey, this thing has been dropped a few times since I bought it, but I can't complain. In 3 months of use, the connection was lost maybe 2 times and restored with a quick reset. I have two TIVOs, a multimedia PC, a Wii, a Slingbox, a smart receiver and a Blu-ray player. These are 7 things that needed an internet connection, so my problem with an unused port was solved perfectly. I almost never use the internet functions of a receiver or Blu-ray player, but what good are these functions if they are not even connected. The receiver allows me to tune into internet radio stations which is pretty cool considering how many there are, plus Pandora, Spotify etc anyway. the router was a bit dodgy to set up. I banged my head on it for an hour or two on night #1 and gave up, but when I got home from work the next day (leaving it on all night/day) it was working great and I didn't have to touch anything. Not sure what happened overnight but as always with technical things. I fight him until he gives up and usually I'm not 100% sure what I did "the 10th time" which was different than the first 9 times. but suddenly everything works and I look like I know what I'm doing. I have a BSEE but it seems like the technical stuff is more plug and pray than plug and play these days. Your mileage may vary.
