I have been using it for several years and in my case day and night are different. Helps filter out organic waste that cleans the tank. It can be recharged up to 10 times depending on the reservoir, bioburden and maintenance. I've managed to top up my 4 times in the last two years so it really saves money but in my case I have a big bio load and I think it's better to get a new one. It still works, but the color after charging shows that it's almost used up. I use this in a planted aquarium with no problems. It will not reduce or remove your enzymes, so it is safe to use in a planted aquarium. Purigen and/or Matrix will keep your tank clean and your fish happy and healthy.
