I use it in a reef aquarium, it controls nitrate levels a bit better as I don't use the skimmer 24/7. There was a hole in my mesh bag so I had to put it in another mesh bag I had lying around. For that I give 3 stars, but you may not have the same problem.

I have a 40 gallon tank with a few chunks of mopani wood that are leaching tannins like crazy. even after several weeks of cooking and soaking. So I bought it hoping it would help. after an hour, the water becomes 50% purer. and the medium is already brown. I am very impressed. I'm sure the water will be crystal clear by noon.

Purigen is a water solution that has a yellow tint due to the tannins in driftwood. This completely solved my problem and gave me crystal clear water that looked amazing. I stuck the bag in my outboard transom filter or buried it in the gravel next to my bottom gravel filter outlet. This is fantastic material. I'm sure it removes all other substances it claims from the water as well, but tannins were my problem.

I use this in my musk turtle tank, it works MUCH better than a regular charcoal filter. With the charcoal filter on towards the middle of the month, the water got a bit cloudy/smelly and I had to do big water changes. With Purigen, I do minimal water changes every week, and the best part is that at the end of the month I can just "load" the Purigen, flush it for a day, and then go back to running instead of buying a brand new one. filter 👍

I bought this product because it was the top rated aquarium water purifier. It was cloudy here, but the fish seemed healthy. I ordered the product on May 28th and it wasn't even shipped until June 10th. Finally he arrived on June 12th. This didn't affect our 20 gallon tank in any way (it's supposed to work in a 100 gallon tank). At least it didn't look like I hurt the fish. In fact, it didn't seem to affect anything. A complete waste of money.

This stuff works wonders. Absorbs everything in the water column, including elements of the nitrogen cycle. I use it in a freshwater aquarium and I noticed a difference after just a few days. I have been using it for several years and in my case day and night are different. Helps filter out organic waste that cleans the tank. It can be recharged up to 10 times depending on the reservoir, bioburden and maintenance. I've managed to top up my 4 times in the last two years so it really saves money but in my case I have a big bio load and I think it's better to get a new one. Purigen is great for making your water clear and clean. I switched from charcoal to it and was amazed. While I'm very happy with the performance, I'm under the impression that I need to charge it about 12 times before it needs to be replaced. My Purigen bag started leaking on the 5th charge so I'm giving it 4 stars. Eventually I switched to loose purigen and put it in media packs so I could get more energy out of that stuff.
