Works well - not suitable for small dogs

A new dog moved in next door which was annoying two of my family dogs so my mum bought these collars to try and stop the barking. Both are well trained with the "silent" collars (as my niece calls them) of our invisible fence, so we figured it would be equally successful. I've experimented with the product and it works well: when it registers a bark, it beeps, then buzzes and then discharges at different levels (not excessively, in my opinion, even the top level). The charge lasts for days before you need to plug it in, which is pretty darn good for battery life. For a twenty-pound terrier mix, it's been a mixed bag in terms of results. The backpack was just too big, and even tight as far as I could comfortably fit in, the tines kept flipping over, which the barking seemed hard to register I guess? And even if he did, he could only squeak and hum. This resulted in him still barking, but more quietly, like a breathy bark (which is pretty hilarious, to be honest). The collar is perfect for our second dog, an 80lb lab, and he seems responsive, but it's also possible he just barks less because the terrier does. It's hard to say, because in general their barking is more peculiar. Overall I wouldn't recommend this product for small dogs, but maybe dogs over 40 pounds? All parts work very well: the only question is the size. As with invisible collars, take the time to train them otherwise they may think they are accidentally hit and feel worse.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
