You may be wondering why I cut the cable. My AVR doesn't accept spade lugs, but I wanted to use spade lugs on the speakers as they protrude less. I couldn't find any cheap spatula/banana combo leads so I just cut the end off and exposed the wires to the AVR. As you can see, the shell is thick. The wiring is copper with a large number of strands (true 12 AWG). The blades are soldered to the wiring. You may have an issue with the scoop size - dimensions are shown in the product photos, so check before purchasing.
