I've had one of these slices since I first saw them in a kitchen store years ago. It was one of my favorites and the most used out of my hundreds of devices. Unfortunately, when I moved and my kitchen was greatly downsized, the food slicer didn't show up in my new location, so it was sitting in a box somewhere, one of several other kitchen items in stock. I immediately bought another one as with my disability I can use it easily without cutting myself which is a problem when trying to use a knife or other sharp objects as I don't have the proper control and therefore need help need that is not always readily available me. Not only can it be used for melons as shown in its advertisement, but it can also be used to cut other items of the same shape and size due to its sharpness and strength, and it also comes in different sizes to meet your needs. I recommend being very careful especially when washing and storing as it is very sharp. This is an item that I was able to continue using even when I developed a disability, particularly because it requires two hands and can be better balanced than a one-handed item like a knife. I would never have been without it, at least not since I first discovered it. I was so happy to find one on sale at Revain and received it the next day. I highly recommend it, and you too will find more uses for it than you initially thought.
