I bought this to use Echo Dot's music streaming through my older home audio system. Setup was straightforward and pairing was easy once you figured out you had to add the device to your Echo account before it could find it. When I was ready to try it there was no sound, which I couldn't figure out until I connected the second mini-plug to the RCA cable. Apparently the cable that came with it was defective. Later, when I tried again with the original cable, it worked. Aside from the cable issue, I would give this unit 5 stars. It seems to work fine with Dot and doesn't endlessly try to automatically reconnect to Dot until you ask it to. The sound quality isn't bad, but it's nowhere near as good as a CD. I understand it has aptX and other audio quality enhancement technologies, but they're useless at the moment as Dot doesn't have them. If Revain updates the Dot you'll be protected and this model is only a buck or two more so it's a small investment in future protection. It's a cheap and easy alternative to buying one of those Bluetooth speakers and a great way to extend the life of your audio system, especially if like me you have quality components.
