The instructions for fitting this item around the trailer jack post make no mention of the two halves failing to come together when the bolts are tightened. When I installed the part and tightened the screws, one of the mounting tabs broke off. I replaced the part with a similar part from another manufacturer whose instructions indicated the two halves would not fit. Also, this manufacturer's product used flare nuts instead of plastic threads. To prevent loosening since the two halves weren't touching either, I replaced the included captive nuts with locknuts.
