I was pulled off the road by a gardener and my pipes were dented and scratched. I tried removing the rust, sanding them and painting them with VHT ceramic paint but it looked awful. These pads completely hide dents and rust. I bought two of these to cover the exhaust on my V-Star 1100. They were very difficult to put on, mainly because the heat shields and mufflers were welded together so I couldn't get the wrap around my back; I had to drag it between the pipes every time. **Be sure to seal this with color matched high temp silicone sealant then cure! **The product itself has no defects, has served well and looks great after 2000 miles.
