So close to the perfect set. Outstanding sound quality. The bass is loud and clear without penetrating the vocals. Vocals are clear and distinct. Bass heavy tracks like "Bad Boy" Billie Eilish sound just as good on it as some of my much more expensive sets. The high-end is there and clear. Given the level of bass, they are surprisingly clear and open. I can't fault anything about the sound. However, we have to admit that when we buy Bluetooth headphones, we don't do it just for the sound quality. Otherwise we'd be wearing expensive wired headphones, right? This is where the "almost perfectβ part begins. That's the real disappointment for me. My right earbud doesn't work with touch controls. After a few minutes of connection, it generally becomes unresponsive to touch. I have to take it out, put it back in the case, then take it out of the case and put it back in my ear. It works perfectly within a few minutes. I guess I'm just unlucky, but my set has me choosing between ANC controls or the skip and last track features on my left ear. This is of course pretty much the same functionality as my AirPod Pros. However, defects are never allowed. The standard cone tips work surprisingly well for comfort and sealing. Three sizes are included in both this style and the traditional bulb tips. ANC is. OK. For a $60 kit, that gives me about $60 worth of noise cancellation. No more and no less. Ambient mode is a VERY welcome addition. At this price point, this is one of the few kits I've tried that has a decent ambient mode. This is important to me as it's the mode I use the most. I bought these for my wife to use when gardening. However, the app shows a slider for adjusting the environmental gain level. The default is level 6. but moving the slider doesn't do anything? Yes, it's useless. No matter if I put it all the way down or all the way up, it does absolutely nothing. When I toggle the mode on and off, it defaults to 6 no matter where I move it. Why? Then what's the point of having it in an app? The app lets you choose the specific product you're using, so it doesn't seem like a generic feature. It should be for this set. A few notches up from the default would make it much better for outdoor work where safety is an issue. The lack of the ability to customize this as shown in the app makes this a fair feature. OK. It could be great. In this price range even better than excellent. With great sound quality and so much potential with the advertised features, I had mixed feelings. If it weren't for the ANC/Ambient level adjustment issues and touch control defect, this would be a breakthrough product. Without doubt. EDIT (9/12/21): Wanted to come back and add more info. I am convinced that all the problems I mentioned are software and/or firmware related. I first tested it on my iPhone, but when I installed it on my wife's Samsung phone, the atmosphere upscaling worked flawlessly. Even stranger is the fact that the opposite earbud becomes unresponsive when paired with Samsung. The right earbud works fine, but the left one is very difficult to activate. Very strange. I will upgrade my rating from 3 stars to 4. This is a great buy if you use an Android phone. Currently the iPhone app is less cool. However, knowing these are software/firmware issues, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that a new product like this will fix them. Once everything is fixed it will definitely be 5 star buds and easily recommended to everyone.
