Review on Folding Carrier Waterproof Capacity Stabilizer by John Taylor

Revainrating 2 out of 5

UPDATE: Great product, now questionable quality. RUST!

UPDATE BELOW: (ORIGINAL REVIEW) Great product. It appears to be made of quality material. The net is thick, the bag too. The straps are a bit long but can be shortened as needed. The ONLY reason I gave this 4 stars was that the center section could use a little more QA before shipping. It is slightly bent, the delivery went smoothly, the box is undamaged indicating that it came in such packaging. Otherwise the material used, the paint finish and the welds are all there (except for one spot where a piece of welding wire protruded which pierced me but cut clean) is all high quality. The inside of the material is also coated on the inside as these types of baskets are UNUSUALLY KNOWN for water to get in and rust on the inside resulting in damage to the paintwork of the vehicle. I am a little confused as to why I did not receive the lock, rosette and other items that were included in the item description. But otherwise easy install (less than an hour) and looks great. (END) UPDATE #1: RUST. I thought with this paint scheme it would prevent rust from forming but I was wrong. Rust began to develop a day after a heavy rainstorm. I am very disappointed that I may have to return this and use a branded product like Yakima. Maybe the seller can talk about it, but looks like I'll have to return this in the near future.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old
