It's just an inferior design

The threaded bolt is too heavy for the job. This means that a regular chair leg is not large enough to drill safely and not disrupt the structure of the legs. A 9/16-inch screw will hold 5,000 pounds or more, but a cheap base is flimsy, and drilling a chair with a regular leg can break if a tall person sits on it often. The threaded stud is larger than some of the heavy aligners I use. Use it in a 1000 lb aquarium. So the leg leveler is strong, but it absolutely loosens a regular chair leg, so it's a losing proposition. It becomes very difficult to find a simple swivel that isn't so badly constructed and once you drill out of that big hole. you can't reset it.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Damaged
