My Betta Jeff LOVES these leaves! It didn't take long for him to figure out how to use them! He lies on it every day. I chose these blades over the Betta Hammock blade because this product has a metal part inside the blade and some reviews said it would rust. You have no metal. I was concerned these sheets might be too flexible but they are perfect and totally smooth plastic. I didn't do anything special to train him. Just make sure you put them HIGH enough in the tank. deep enough in the tank that the UPPER LEAVES are about 1 inch below the waterline. When Jeff lies on this sheet, his back can almost touch the surface. (When my husband first opened them he attached the leaves very deep below the water surface and Jeff wasn't very interested.) I read the reviews and moved the leaves just below the surface and that was all it took . Since bettas can breathe from water (due to the labyrinth organ), Jeff lays on a leaf, raises his head a little, inhales and lowers his head again🥰He even made some foam nests right over his leaf. I am very satisfied with this product and recommend it.
