This monopod was exactly what I was looking for and I think it's a great buy at this price ($59.95). It is very durable and can securely hold the Nikon D300 with the lens attached. MADE WITH HIGH QUALITY: Each of the expansions is strong including the final expansion; the attachment of the strap is held by a rotating metal ring so that it cannot break; and there is no flexing or torque when the monopod is fully extended. It's no shrinkable violet: it's not so heavy that it's uncomfortable to carry, but definitely not a miniature device. It's quick and easy to set up. It works well as a walking stick if needed, although it only has a very strong rubber tip and no spike. The only improvement I can suggest is the carry case. But given the type and volume of the camera and the gear I use it with, I can just clip the carabiner to my belt and clip it to my gear bag. FYI, I only received this monopod today, but I immediately charged it up and tried it out. it's from. It's much sturdier and better made than the ones I've found in regular stores (rather limited selection) for the same price or more.
