Doesn't smell like roses at all. More quickly. . .Old school baby powder. Also, it's actually just petroleum jelly with a pink tint. "Balm" doesn't rub my hands at all. They just stay greasy no matter how long I rub them in. I took a close look at the container and wondered if I received a cheap Chinese fake like many products do, but saw nothing to indicate that. I will not buy it again. I think just empty the jar, mix some shea butter and rose oil and pour it in.
