Will not seal 5 mil mylar bags

I bought this to seal 5 mil to 8 mil mylar bags. I've tried a few times with a 5 mil mylar bag but it doesn't form a decent seal at all. This might work for other types of materials/thicknesses, but not for a 5 mil mylar bag.
