Used on my 03 Sport Trac. Couldn't get the steering wheel off. The old wires couldn't be removed from the buttons so I ripped them off to remove everything. These new buttons allow the wires to be separated from the button. Then I processed the wires between the steering wheel and the rear plastic cover. (I would take a picture before removing the old wires for reference.) The wire running from the top is shorter so it doesn't fit into the slots in the plastic backing. He'll sit lower, but that's okay. Be careful when reinserting the wires into the buttons.
