These are well made GMRS radios. I like the shape. They are easy to use. The speaker is nice and clear and can get pretty loud. Transmission reports state that the microphone picks up well and transmits clarity. However, they don't fare well at a distance. I compared them to the GMRS mobile radios from Pofung, Retivis and Tidradio. They couldn't go that far. This short antenna does not work as well as the longer ones found on other radios. It's a shame, because the overall equipment is really good. I don't have enough screen to see what channel I'm on, but that's a minor thing. This radio is hampered by the lack of distance. We were only able to walk about 1/2 mile before the signal was lost. There was a lot of interference in the signal at 1/4 mile. If you can live with the lack of distance these are good little radios. You get two, as well as a charger and a belt pouch each. UPDATE: I accidentally left the radio on and a few days, yes days later, I heard someone broadcasting on it. It has a very long standby battery life.
