Review on LUCID Inch Latex Hybrid Mattress by Felicia Evans

We had a previous memory foam mattress that we really liked but wanted to try something with more padding. This Lucid mattress is still very comfortable but feels more plush and softer. The springy latex layer doesn't hold you back like a traditional memory foam mattress. It arrived quickly, in a heavy but surprisingly small box. The included blue "paper scissors" was a nice touch that made opening the package easier. It ballooned very quickly to almost full size within an hour or two, and then expanded a little more over the next few hours. no chemical smell when opening the package, unless i consciously breathed deeply into the material with my nose, after a few hours of airing i don't feel anything, even the chemical smell was not really unpleasant, in contrast to our last foam mattress with memory Effect. After sleeping on this mattress for a few nights, I found that it was superior to our old one in many ways. I love the side supports that hold you up in bed while the center pieces compress more and cushion you. Latex is "more breathable" so I feel less sweaty, although I am and always have been a "hot" sleeper. I love how easy it was to get inside (it shrinks to a surprisingly small box for a queen-size mattress). I like that it doesn't transfer movements to my wife. and wake them up when I go to bed later (and vice versa when I get up early in the morning). My guess is that it's the internal springs (which are completely silent - I wouldn't have known they had springs without reading the specs) that allow it to maintain the same support at 10 inches as our older thicker mattresses from the memory foams 14 inches. At the same time, it is more "plush" and reacts more quickly to envelopes. My wife can now sleep on her stomach which she couldn't before because the memory foam is slowly taking shape. Overall this is a great mattress with good support and a well balanced pillow.
